The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB all have seats on this council) has mandated security guidelines for all Property Management Systems and Point of Sale Systems. Effective July 2010, credit card processors are not permitted to process transactions for any merchant using non-compliant PMS or POS systems. In short, strict procedures must be followed regarding the acceptance, storage and transfer of credit cards.
Resort Data Processing has enlisted the services of TrustWave to perform a third party audit on their PMS software.
